The South Australian Film Corporation have announced new openings in its Professional Crew Attachments Program for early and mid-career screen creatives wanting to gain industry experience with a professional crew on a scripted TV series!
There are three openings: two working in the Art Department and a third as Assistant Director.
Art Department Attachment 1
The successful applicant will complete a paid 6-week Art Department attachment from 16 October to 24 November 2023. (Please note these dates are subject to change.)
Under the guidance of an experienced Art Department HOD the attachment will:
- Be a part of a TV series production set build and location shoot
- Develop an understanding of the processes within an art department and the roles of the team members
- Learn how to read call sheets, schedules and scripts
- Develop an understanding of on-set protocols, and
- Develop relationships and experience for future opportunities.

Art Department Attachment 2
The successful applicant will complete a paid 12-week Art Department attachment from 11 September to 1 December 2023. Please note these dates are subject to change.
Under the guidance of an experienced Art Department HOD the attachment will:
- Be a part of a TV series production set build and location shoot
- Learn and apply the day-to-day tasks required in the role with a focus on Set Decoration, working closely with the Set Decorator and the Set Dressers
- Develop an understanding of the processes within an Art Department and the roles of the team members
- Learn how to read call sheets, schedules and scripts, and
- Develop relationships and experience for future opportunities.

Assistant Director Attachment
The successful applicant will complete a paid 12-week Assistant Director attachment from 11 September to 1 December 2023.
Under the guidance of an experienced 1st Assistant Director the attachment will:
- Be a part of a TV series that is location and studio based
- Develop an understanding of the processes of an 3rd Assistant Director within the department and other team members
- Gain exposure to departmental production processes
- Learn how to read call sheets, schedules and scripts, and
- Develop an understanding of on-set protocols.
