Postcards from the Edge

In this wide-ranging fireside in-conversation rich with anecdotes, Keith Conlon OAM and Dr Kiera Lindsey will explore why South Australian history matters, as well as who cares about history and heritage in twenty-first-century Australia and why.

For 50 years Keith Conlon OAM has been celebrating South Australian history on television and radio. Dr Kiera Lindsey has been researching and writing history in the academy and presenting Australian history on television and radio for over 20 years and is now passionately advocating to ‘give the past a future now’ at the History Trust of South Australia.

Talking History: History & Imagination: Adversaries or Allies?

Four historians, fascinated by the power of imagination within history practice, consider how historians have engaged with this animating element since Herodotus and across distinctive forms of Australian history-making since well before European settlement.

They also consider how imagination with integrity can best bring history to life in our schools, museums, podcasts and books.

Chaired by Dr Kiera Lindsey with Professor Marnie Hughes Warrington AO, Professor Anna Clark and Dr Kristy Kokegei.
