Skate Daze Hallett Cove

C44 filmmaking students capture Skate Daze

Skate Daze was recently held for the Stage 2 opening at the Hallett Cove Capella Drive Skate Park and C44 filmmaking workshop participants were there to capture the action!

Skaters and music fans turned out for acts including next-big-thing duo Teenage Joans, with Pity Lips, Luci, Satin Sun and Babyteeth, plus skating and BMX demos, creative workshops, live art installations and food trucks.

The event staged by On the Flip Side and City of Marion officially opened Stage 2 of the park redevelopment and coincided with a C44 filmmaking workshop funded by the City of Marion to upskill emerging screen creators in the Marion area.

Participant and Hallett Cove local Austin interviewed attendees and organisers and helped to edit the finished video (below).

“As someone who grew up in Hallett Cove, it was amazing to capture such a lively community event,” says Austin. “I really enjoyed being able to strengthen some practical skills like interviews and editing through this course.”
