The Adelaide 48 Hour Film Project is back for its eighth year!
Do you have what it takes to write, shoot, edit and score a film in just 48 hours? We have a challenge for you! This wild and sleepless competition is open to everyone that is up for the challenge, regardless of age or filmmaking experience.
The competition takes place over the weekend of 29 September to 1 October. At exactly 7 pm on the Friday, filmmaking teams will receive a genre and a prop, a character and a line of dialogue that must be in their films. Minutes later they race off to produce their films, dropping them back off Sunday evening.
All submitted films are screened at the Palace Nova Eastend Cinema the week of 9 October, and a Screening & Awards Night will be held on Saturday 4 November.
The best film overall from Adelaide will win a $1,000 cash prize and will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen in a showcase at Cannes Film Festival 2024.
The 48 Hour Film Project is not only a fantastic learning experience for emerging filmmakers and a way to get your films screened both locally and internationally, but is also the most creative fun you’ll have all year!
