Blak Seeds Fest is set to bring a deadly celebration of First Nations culture, music, and creativity to Carclew on Thursday 6 March. Curated by Carclew’s Emerging First Nations Creatives (Joshua Barbo, Keith Gilbey-Warrior, Jasmine Kerdel, Zoe Kopp and Bedlam Rigney), this family-friendly event showcases an all-First Nations lineup of musicians, artists, and performers, offering a rich and immersive experience for audiences of all ages.
With a dynamic program of live music, interactive art workshops, art stalls, an exhibition, and specialty food and beverage vendors, Blak Seeds Fest is a unique opportunity to engage with and support First Nations artists in an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
On the extensive live performance lineup is folk-country singer-songwriter Sonia Smith, pop/electro sensation Tilly Tjala Thomas, genre-blending artist Cringetrender, hip hop powerhouse Eskatology, rappers BOUSTA and dynamic melodic poets Jirrah X The Yowie, as well as MoZzi spinning the best tunes to close out the night.

Blak Seeds Fest also features an exciting market space with talented First Nations artists, including Wurtarti Creations, Maali Yorga Arts, Nay’s Art, Bea Lewis, and Debbie Brown — a perfect opportunity to purchase and support local talent.
Guests can explore original paintings, contemporary and traditional artworks, including beautifully embellished skateboards, from emerging and established First Nations visual artists such as Tanaya Antony, Debbie Brown, Keith Gilbey-Warrior, Jasmine Kerdel, Melanie Koolmatrie, Bea Lewis, and Bedlam Rigney in the Ballroom and Foyer Galleries.
The exhibition is open now for an extended viewing period until March 6, Monday to Friday, 9 am -5 pm.
Attendees can indulge in a plentiful selection of food and beverages, with stalls offering Australian native cuisine from Meez On Plus, fresh-brewed coffee from Frothy Fella and refreshing drinks at Kombi Crew, serving First Nations owned beverages Munda wines, Gangurru Seltzers, and beers thanks to Indibrew.
